So, a couple weeks have passed since I received my new behemoth: Octane II.
At this point I can say that it meets all of my expectations (almost):
The fingerprint scanner could be better (I had a Lenovo before and the scan never failed). And I have to agree with other reviewers regarding the screen backlight leakage/bleeding. It has that problem.
However, it doesn’t bother me because this machine is not used for gaming or video/photo edit. I use it for audio, and it excels at it! It’s the ultimate portable recording/mixing workstation.
The 6700k and the SSDs handle brilliantly all the audio processing!
Will add more RAM down the road but for now 24GB is more than enough for my needs.
PC Specialist service was impeccable, from order to delivery. Faster than I thought it would take!
I installed the OS (I’m using W10 now, let’s see if I don’t regret it) and downloaded the drivers from PCS and Clevo website. Everything installed smoothly without a problem.
I guess I can say that I’m happy with my dark ugly beast.
