Uploading video and pictures

When I first started uploading video and pictures from my camera smart card some years ago, the computer would upload video to one folder and pictures to another, automatically. Now I have been upgraded and am using Windows 8 I have to perform two separate operations, one to upload pictures, then another to upload video. Is there any way I can make Windows 8 perform as Windows 7 used to and upload both formats in one operation but to separate folders please.

Upload to what? Do you mean copying files from your camera to your PC, uploading to cloud storage / a website etc?

Apparently it should be possible to do both at once, or at least the feature's called "Import Pictures and Videos" http://www.dummies.com/computers/operating-systems/windows-10/how-to-import-photos-with-windows-10/ That's Windows 10 but I assume it also exists in Windows 8?

If you're on Windows 8 and you're just doing the import via the Photos app, then I assume that would just handle pictures. But the above might help to do both at once.

I would normally just use something like FreeFileSync to copy files over, or just manually copy the files through File Explorer (aka Windows Explorer).

Thank you...I followed that link and discovered there is a slider control that allows you to expand or reduce the number of folders imported to...problem solved. Thanks again.

I someone (like Oussebon) gives you good or helpful advice it's a good idea to increase their reputation, you can do this by clicking on the star icon below their avatar. Not only is this a nice way of saying thank-you, but by increasing member's reputation future posters get to see whose answers they can trust, so it's good for everybody. :)

While imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery and it's always nice to be flattered, I'm not really sure what value it adds for bestellen to post in topics just copy pasting, word for word, text someone else already said, e.g:
- topic above, posts 4 and 9

Thanks for the info - I hadn't noticed it was exact copies, most of those posts (except the one in this thread) have now been deleted :)
