Charging an ipad when connected to the PC

I often have to connect my iPad to download pictures and it would be VERY useful if it would charge at the same time. Has USB3 a bit more oomph as currently it isn't really an option on USB2.

Both USB1 and USB2 offer the same charge output of O.5A, USB 3 is 0.9A, but on most PC's and laptops these days you get a dedicated charging port which will offer far increased charging rates. That will be marked on the port itself.

Thanks for this. I was hoping to be able to exchange data and charge at the same time. If only they would have two ports in an iPad!
