Is it out of pre-production yet? For gaming you could do quite a bit better

Budget looks like it would support an 8400 and 1070.

Agreed with the above. If it's not shipped yet, you may be able to amend the order.

What's your budget, how much did the above spec come to, and what monitor are you pairing the system with?

The i5 8400 is cheaper than an R7 1800x and seems to perform better in gaming, insofar as there's a difference:

It's a lot cheaper, which frees up budget for a GTX 1070, and a much better and larger SSD like the PM961, faster RAM, and a slightly larger PSU.

Wouldnt let me change the 1800x to an Intel CPU, so i stretched my budget and added the 1070 and upped the ram to 16gb 3000mhz, anthing else i could add to it other than change the CPU? I dont mind the RYZEN 7 1800x it should be more than perfect for what i need it to do

Hi, i have a question about the graphic cards. How do they pick which series of graphic card to use? I'm just curious because i'm planning to get a gtx 1060 6gb build from PCS but i don't know which series of graphics card it will be.

If you mean which brand, then for NVidia cards it is generally Palit or Zotac, it's not guaranteed to be one of those but it is likely to be, as for the exact variant - again it's not fixed - it's whatever they have in stock at the time.

You'd need to cancel the order and resubmit.

Which I suggest you do.

If stretching the budget, the 8700k would be the CPU of choice as it costs a similar sum to your 1800x but offers more gaming performance. If you're determined to stick to Ryzen then you could drop to the 1600x.

While the 1800x is fine, it's just not best value, and so in my opinion is a waste of cash vs the alternatives.
