Monitor not working

Hi

I bought my LG w2753v from Pc Specialist 7 years ago, for the past few months the display was flickering off for a few seconds and then back on again for a few hours and it would go through this cycle over and over, the power light was still on and changing the display cables didnt do anything as it does the same when using on the PS4 though HDMI, one time the image didnt come back on so I gave it a tap on the side and then it worked again so I've been doing that a few times when it cuts out but now the image isnt coming back on at all, when I power it up the desktop will display fine for 2 seconds and then it goes black but if I put a torch up to the screen I can see the desktop faintly, I've managed to reset to factory but still nothing.

I was going to get another monitor anyway later this year but was hoping this would have lasted, any ideas or is it gone for good?

The backlight has failed, no way of getting it back that’s worth not getting a new one.

Damn, I just found a video on youtube for the same issue but different model - not worth wasting money getting fixed if i'm going to get a new one at some point :( was hoping it would have lasted a bit longer. Oh well, will check the forums for ideas on monitors again. Ta
