If you can wait a tiny bit, PCS are just releasing their new chassis with newest intel mobile chips. I'd recommend the new iteration of the Defiance for that budget.

There are set to be some goodies like high refresh and possibly gsync screens, 6 core mobile processors and other goodies.

EDIT: read that as laptop cos was excited about the new refresh, jumped the gun again, apologies.

Does this need to be a laptop or is a desktop ok?

If a desktop does he already have a monitor and if so what model is it exactly? ie what resolution and refresh rate?

If you bought the monitor online do you have a link to the product page? The reason I ask is that what the spec of the monitor is can affect what graphics card is best suited to the build - and therefore how to balance the build:)

If it has Freesync rather than Gsync, an RX Vega GPU may be preferable to an Nvidia one.

On the assumption that it might be a 34" Acer Predator type of deal with 1440p ultrawide resolution, 100hz refresh rate, and gsync, then a GTX 1080 ti would be ideal. It's an expensive GPU, making the build something like:

£1500 is a relatively slim budget compared to the monitor. The above cuts a few corners like going for a relatively budget case (though still adequate for cooling) and only 8gb RAM (more RAM can be added later, and 8gb is ok for now).
