New fan generation from Noctua

New fans are apparently as good as 2 of the old ones on a cooler: https://www.techpowerup.com/243328/noctua-tease-their-impending-sterrox-made-a-series-nf-a12x25-fan

Production has been getting delayed and delayed but apparently they should be here soon with early May being suggested.

The new material they will be using is apparently more rigid than their old stuff, letting them make the fan blades have much less clearance from the ring, improving airflow and reducing noise.

In the absence of any GPU news this is what we're reduced to. But it's Noctua, so it's cool...

Its's interesting that in the age of nanometre chip design and ever faster processing there is still room for improvement in the humble fan. It makes me wish I'd paid more attention to the fluid dynamics lectures..... :)

Still don’t understand their colour scheme, that’s the only negative to their products

I’m amazed at the improved performance of these new fans, that’s quite a marked achievement

My rear case fan is making a noise like a train full of wounded buffalo. Only with less potential for steak. I'm cheap and it still works, so have put off replacing it, but am tempted to 'splash out' and treat my ears.

Was tempted to get one just to be able to write the first Amazon review... but ultimately cba. Still, if anyone else has one of these, would be interested to hear how they find it.

Edit: ermergerd look how quiet: https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/noctua_nf_a12x25_fan_review,5.html
