Hi Everyone,

I really do not know much about graphic cards and I am building a productivity dev system. I will mostly code, browse, study, run VMs, dev containers and so on.

I did not want more than 1 monitor so I bought the following:

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.TX2EE.005

It's a UW-QHD+ (3840x1600) monitor with max refresh rate of 75hz. Since I will spend many hours a day on this, I was thinking that the higher refresh rate the better. However, this system is purely for productivity, no gaming at all.

So, what is the cheapest graphic card with the higher refresh rate at 3840x1600?

Many thanks for your advice.

On board graphics (on the cpu) would be fine for that.

hmm, are you sure about that?

An entry level GEFORCE GT 730 will not run reach 75hz at that resolution. Are on board graphics generally better?

Why do you need to run it at 75hz, none of your uses suggest any benefit from doing so? Just because the screen will go up to that doesn’t mean you have to run it at that?
