Here is the config for my build I aim to be purchasing within the next couple of weeks.
The machine will be used for creating many vm's that will be used in my lab environment as well as gaming and music production.
Any feedback would be great be it positive or negative. :tt2:

If you're going to be creating 'many VMs' you might want to consider more RAM? It depends of course on what the VMs will be used for, but if you allocate, say, 2GB RAM per VM then you're not going to be able to run more than about 6 VMs in 16GB......

Ubuysa is spot on. If you're running Windows VM's you really want a minimum of 4GB per VM and 4GB for the host machine.

Less will run but you'll find it painful, trust me.

I'd drop the SSHD as well - they have a small cache and starting multiple VM's will most likely cause a lot of cache misses. If you can afford a larger SSD then I'd suggest this - the more IOPS the better for booting multuple VM's.

That said, if you do have them on a SATA HDD it's not the end of the world - you'll notice very slow booting (again more noticeable when booting multiple VM's simultaneously) but it won't usually descend to absolutely terrible once they are started - unless you're using VM's that are in any way going to be disk intensive.

I see the CPU supports hyperthreading as well which is always good for VM's.

An R7 2700x would offer similar/better performance for a much lower price
