We can advise on a PCS build where you select the components and PCS build it and deliver it to you, if you post your usage we can help advise?

You're going to be at the very lower end given your price range, £600 is not a lot for a gaming computer. What specific games do you want to be able to play?

hi,
I only really play gmod and cs go but I want to try and play battlefield or even Squad if that's possible?

Thanks for the reply!

This is tricky. As the others have said, this isn't much cash for a gaming system.

You'd have a couple of options. One to go for a system based around an AMD Raven Ridge APU like the R5 2400G. It's a decent budget CPU with relatively powerful onboard graphics. It should let you play modern AAA titles at a greatly reduced resolution e.g BF1. The other would be to go for a system with an Intel Pentium and a GTX 1050 ti.

In straight gaming performance, the Pentium + GTX 1050 ti is miles better. It's not even a contest. However, the Pentium is a weaker CPU, comes with a more limited motherboard, and will almost certainly have fewer upgrade options down the line. When you come to upgrade your graphics card in the future, the Pentium will be much more of a bottleneck, to the point that you will almost certainly want to replace it. The R5 2400G will be able to support beefier future GPUs, and it is expected that future generations of Ryzen CPU to around 2020 will be compatible with the A320 motherboards. Whereas future gens of Intel CPUs almost certainly will need new motherboards.

However, the Pentium + GTX 1050 ti would let you play something like BF1 at 1080p on medium-high settings, while the R5 2400G on its own will be 720p medium...

BF1 on an R5 2400G:

Gaming on discrete GPUs:
https://www.techspot.com/review/1619-pentium-gold-g5400-vs-ryzen-2200g/page3.html (Pentium v R3 2200. The R3 2200G is significantly weaker than an R5 2400G but still trounces the Pentium in gaming with a GTX 1070)
Same kind of story: https://uk.hardware.info/reviews/81...ing-benchmarks-gtx-1080-ti-battlefield-1-dx12

However, in straight gaming performance, R5 2400G vs a GTX 1050 ti:

So the Intel system will give overwhelmingly better performance now, but would probably cost you more down the line. The R5 2400G system will give entry level performance now, and support a lot more upgrade options in the future. However you'd probably get a couple of years' use of the Intel system as-is.

It's your choice, and both are valid options :)

NB, the RAM above (2x4gb 3000MHz) is expensive versus 1x8gb 2133MHz. However, you wouldn't want to buy an APU with slow, single channel RAM.

hi,
Thanks for the help, Im new to all this and you helped me a lot.
I would probably be going for the intel build and save money to upgrade it in the future.

Thanks

Just be sure that you didn't understand - the Intel will cost more to upgrade. You will likely need a new motherboard and cpu at least. The AMD will have more upgrade flexibility and thus easier to save cost. Basically you are weighing up Performance now vs more expensive upgrade down the line.
