Looks decent, though I'd make 2 recommendations and a couple of comments:

1st Hard Disk
240GB ADATA SU650 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (520MB/R, 450MB/W)
The laptop only has space for 2 drives, one 2.5" drive (which can be an HDD or SSD) and an M.2 drive (SSD). Buy going for the SU650, you're filling up the 2.5" drive with a cheap and slow drive. If you ever want more storage it will need to be an M.2 SSD (or you'll have to replace the SU650 altogether). Plus the SU650 isn't really very good.

I suggest you go for the SX6000 under the M.2 SSD Menu. It's still pretty cheap, is a lot faster and the SU650 and probably faster than any of the other Sata SSDs. It will also leave you the 2.5" bay free for a choice of HDD (cheap, large) or SSD storage down the line.

I'd also suggest 2 x 8gb RAM instead of 1 x 16gb. It's cheaper, and should perform better as far as there's any difference for gaming due to being in dual channel. If it's for gaming, you'll never need to go for 32gb RAM.

2" other comments:

If it's for gaming, you could save yourself £75 and stick to the i5 8300H. You're going to be GPU bound almost all of the time, meaning little to no performance difference between the CPUs, and unlike a desktop PC upgrading the GPU isn't a consideration.

If you're not bothered about a 144hz screen, consider the Review version of the Recoil:
https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/configure-review/264/
£1279 and includes i7-8750H, 16gb 2400MHz RAM, GTX 1060, 1TB HDD, 512gb Samsung 970 Pro SSD (!).

Seems decent to me.

Although I have just looked at the laptop you suggested and it’s much better spec & I will only be using it for casual gaming such as a bit of Fortnite, League of Legends, Tomb Raider & no doubt my girlfriend will try nicking it for Sims 4 so might just go for the one you suggested as it’s capable of running games on high settings and won’t really need a 144hz screen to be fair.

If you're into shooters/ PvP games and are pretty competitive about them you may prefer the higher refresh screen. But for casual gaming, 60hz is fine and the Recoil is indeed much better value. Review spec systems carry discounts built into the fixed price, hence the better value.

The recoil seems to get generally favourable reviews, manages temps well, and I believe is lighter than the 15.6" Optimus (and the 17.3" one, obvs...)
