Opinions on this build?

Just to make you aware as it is quite confusing - you can choose from much better SSDs than the one you have selected on the M2 drop down, and you may want to play with the overclock configurater for intels as you can't select overclocked cpus from the normal one and it seems there is no reason not to overclock if going for gaming. Also the knowledgeable guys here could benefit from knowing the budget and which games you aim to play.

Ah I see, I didn’t realise, thank you. I’m looking to keep it around £1600/1700 and I would like to play most AAA titles in the uppermost graphics settings at 1440p like I said earlier. Games like Witcher 3, battlefield and I also play WoW but I realise that is mainly CPU driven.

What refresh rate is your screen? If you don’t know, post the model.

It’s 144Hz, 1ms.

A GTX1080 would do you proud. I’d echo the above advice and consider a Samsung m2 drive as they’re about 5 time the speeds for not much more money, and overclocking is well worth it as only costs about £10 more with the benefit the overclock is covered by the warranty.

I’d up the PSU to a 550w also which will help with future upgrades.

I’ll leave the rest up to someone else, I’m a little unsure about the case in such a powerful system, usually quiet cases come with a trade off in cooling potential.

As someone who also is a new customer, my advice would be read the other threads, check peoples builds. It's how I caught things like the M2 drive issue on my own build recently, as everyone is super helpful but it's easy to miss something that may have been picked up on in other similar builds. Oussebon, Spyder and the other volunteers all have great insights.

Aha, ty :)

It always helps to know the value of the spec as well, because the budget is posted at £16-1700 but the spec weighs in at over £1750 (including Windows, not clear if the OP needs this).

I also play WoW but I realise that is mainly CPU driven.
That's not actually true, and hasn't been for a long time. WoW is absolutely more dependent on CPU performance than many other games, but will make heavy use of the GPU. Draenor happily maxed out my GTX 970 for instance.

Agreed with what the others have said re GTX 1080 being a good fit for 1440p and a pre-overclocked spec (especially for games like WoW).

The M.2 SSD is absolutely very nice to have. However, these are super expensive. ~£60 more than an 860 Evo, and £80 more than a WD Blue Sata SSD. Plus, any 500gb SSD will start stretching the budget. Therefore, to try and keep as close to the budget as possible, something like:

But if you're happy pushing the budget a bit, by all means go for a 500gb WD Blue / 860 Evo. Or a Samsung 970 Evo, even. :)

That build was £1738 after I changed it to an over locked 8700k and swapped for the 970 EVO SSD. I don’t need windows as I already have a copy! Thanks for your suggestion, I agree in that it it might be best for me to stick to a 250gb SSD. I would most likely save it for the operating system/WoW anyway. What are your thoughts on the cooling? Do you think it would be okay with the overclock etc?

The build I posted is he build you posted but OCed and with a cheaper SSD. Plus Windows as that wasn't clear before. The cooling would be fine.
