Proteus VI chassis?

Hey all,

I've spent the last week or so trying to decide on a new gaming laptop, and had nearly settled on the Recoil 2 (replacing my old Optimus series, built in 2012), but noticed this morning there's another new entry, the Proteus VI.

As it's brand new for PC Specialist there isn't a lot of info around about it. Does anyone have any further information other than what's on the product page, thoughts or the chassis PC Specialist are using, so I can maybe do a little more research around it?

It's a Quanta NL5C if anyone's interested. Not that that's a big help, as there's not a lot around about that chassis either!

Just ordered laptop with this chassis. Also very low info about it from others, so will be testing it hope from the end of the week/next week.

The Proteus V got pretty good user reviews on this forum (people weren't as likely to be concerned about temps as with some of its Defiance contemporaries, from my recollection).

But that's a moot point as the Proteus V had different hardware, and PCS do use different screen models. So you should look up reviews of the new chassis they are using, and of the screen panel they are using (whatever that is) and go from there. Don't base your purchase choice on reviews of older models, be they positive or negative.

I didn't see a complete reviews on this forum. Where I can find some review of the this display? proteus and defiance with 1070 are more or less the same?

In terms of performance, they're the same, though the Defiance has a gsync screen with a higher refresh rate.

In terms of the chassis, they are quite different, made by different companies.
