Cosmos Touchpad Issues

Hey everyone, I've been having problems with the touchpad driver on my Cosmos VI / Windows 10 laptop and I'd appreciate any advice. I've had this laptop for about a year and the touchpad has never been totally functional, though after a lot of faffing I found that a particular driver version (Synaptics SMBus TouchPad 19.3.4.58, 29/11/16) made it mostly functional -- the touchpad basically works for all intents and purposes, but I don't have a Synaptics tab in the Mouse settings, and I'll occasionally get a BSOD while playing games (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SynTP.sys), although that's been rare enough to be a non-issue.

Recently, though, I tried a new game and I get this BSOD error every time I try to play it, making it basically unplayable (it's only this one game, oddly enough). So I should just update the driver, right? The problem is that every time I've tried to update to a later version than the one I've got, it's just seemed to make the touchpad worse -- sluggish, unresponsive movement, camera doesn't pan properly in games, etc., even though Device Manager has said the touchpad is updated and working. So that's why I've stuck with an old version, but it looks like I'll finally have to update/fix it so that I can play the new game (and having the Synaptics tab would also be nice). Does anyone have any suggestions how I might go about this / where I might be going wrong?

I've tried updating to later versions (no success), and the touchpad driver that came with the laptop either didn't work properly or it's this 2016 version, I can't remember. Interestingly, I did try manually installing one version (13.3.8.13, 20/10/16) and I got the Synaptics tab for the first time ever, but "TOUCHPAD OFF" kept flashing on the screen and other assorted jankiness, so it didn't quite work out. I also tried contacting PC Specialist about this shortly after I got my laptop a year ago, but they weren't very helpful and basically just sent me a link to a generic driver download page.

Thanks for any help!

Do you have Clevo Control Centre / Hotkey installed?

Yep, they're installed and seem to be working OK. Although I did once get a Control Centre popup error after one of these BSODs (just saying that I'd need to restart to activate Control Centre), if that means anything.

Just an update for anyone else having the same issues: I still can't update my touchpad driver to any version post-2016 without problems, but I think I've fixed the BSODs. Synaptics and Clevo Control Centre seem to interact badly with one another for some reason, and uninstalling Control Centre cut down on the BSODs but didn't get rid of them totally. What has seemed to get rid of them for good is a fix here (http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/synaptics-causes-bsod-on-p650se.770938/page-16#post-10235938), which involves editing the registry so that the touchpad/keyboard drivers causing the BSODs don't load at boot. Some people have accidentally lost control of their touchpads/keyboards by deleting the entire UpperFilter keys rather than just a string of text from them, though, so read the instructions carefully if attempting!

Googling the problem shows a lot of people in the past year or so who have had SynTP.sys BSODs on Clevo laptops, especially while gaming, so there's some larger issue here.
