Dota 2 tearing/stuttering despite monster computer

Hey boys, i have a problem. I bought this pretty expensive MSI computer with the best stuff possible.

Nvidia GTX 1080 Armor, 8 GB graphic card, Intel® Core™ i7-8700K processor, 16 GB DDR4 RAM.

I also bought a monitor with 144hz. I have updated the drives to the motherboard and graphic card. I have tried ALL the different kinds of settings, vsync off, vsync on, letting NVIDA set my settings, etc etc.

Despite all this, i'm stuttering/lagging, getting fps drops. It is extremely irritating that i can't even play Dota 2 with this brand new computer. Do i miss something? What do i do wrong?

The computer is a MSI CODEX XE066. I would be EXTREMELY happy if someone could help me out here.. I'm getting really frustrated. PEACE!

These forums belong to PC Specialist who build and sell custom PCs and laptops, so users aren't able to give detailed advice on competitors' models.

In general terms of first things I'd usually suggest checking
is the monitor plugged into the motherboard or the graphics card
How are the temps
Are windows and GPU power plans set to high performance

You might want to try MSI's forums for more detailed advice on their hardware :)
