is the GTX 1060 6GB the mobile version or the desktop version? I assume it's the mobile version but i'm not sure :/ the desktop gpu runs a bit faster so was wondering which one it is... and also is there a max-Q version too?

Laptops don't have a desktop 1060, they will all be the mobile version. It won't be max-Q unless it says it is.
Unlike previous generations where GTX 970M very clearly mean the mobile version, Pascal laptop GPUs are just called the same as their desktop counterparts. Although in fairness they are also a lot closer in performance to their desktop counterparts than the 900 series was.
