Can’t diagnose what’s wrong with my computer

Tried turning it on this morning and the on light flashed on and it turns straight off instantly and repeats until I manually turn it off again. Opened it up and both the psu fan and regular fan spin turn on and then off again and rinse repeat. Does my PSU need replacing or is this another piece of hardware and is there anyway to know?

Is this a PC Specialist (PCS) built PC?

When was it last working?
What's happened between it last working and now?
Is it plugged into a surge protector? If so try it directly into the wall socket as a test.
Check that all cards are fully seated and all connectors fully home.

Hi thank you for your reply!! It is not it’s own built, it was last working Sunday night where I fell asleep watching YouTube videos but I have it set to turn itself off at 2am anyway so it was left on for about an hour I’d say and when I woke up it was doing this!! It’s nkt connected to a surge protector and I reconnected all connectors and the same problem occurs

Yeah i believe so it doesn’t start an elaborate breakfast machine if that’s what you’re hinting at

I'm just trying to be certain how it's '...set to turn itself off at 2am...' just in case that was a probable cause. Since it now appears to be a regular shutdown it can probably be ignored.

You might try removing all but one stick of RAM and see whether it will boot then? You might also try removing the graphics card and temporarily using the on-board GPU to see whether that allows it to boot.

You basically want to eliminate as many components as you can (by removing them) before suspecting the PSU.

Is it possible there was a power flick during the night? If it's not plugged into a surge protector that might have caused problems?

I don't know what else to suggest I'm afraid.

Tried removing pieces of hardware and still nothing I’m afraid! As for the power flock that could have potentially happened, looks like all arrows pointing to the psu!!

I would have thought so too based on everything said here. You might get better help on a more general forum like Tom's Hardware, you really don't want to be replacing the PSU on the off chance. Best of luck. :)
