Very happy with my new Cosmos VII series laptop! My config -

Cosmos Series: 15.6" Full HD IPS 60Hz 45% NTSC LED Widescreen
Intel® CoreTM i5 Quad Core Processor 7300HQ (2.5GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo)
8GB Corsair 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 8GB)
Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 - 4.0GB GDDR5 RAM
HDD 480GB KINGSTON UV500 2.5" SSD, SATA

I can only think of pro's basically. I got this PC mainly for work and a bit of gaming. Since it's arrival I've been mainly gaming :p ! I haven't really tested this with benchmarks yet but so far so good.! Will keep you updated...

There are only a couple of things that could have been marginally better, like the 'power button'. It is a bit tougher than I had expected. And I wasn't expecting a finger print reader with this but it isn't that great. At least 3-4 attempts needed to log in using the finger print. Apart from this, really awesome system and great price !

Cheers guys!

Best Regards
Sid

Hi,

I just did my first benchmark using 3d Mark and was surprised it does not recognize the 1050 GTX graphics card ? I got a score of 1752 with the config above. Screenshot attached ? Any ideas ??3dmrkcvii.JPG

That's pretty normal for a laptop GTX 1050 in Timespy apparently: https://tinyurl.com/ya9tccpa (1729 there)

1790 here: https://www.windowscentral.com/budget-gaming-laptop-comparison-gtx-960m-vs-gtx-1050

So yeah, 1752 seems to be what you should expect give or take.

The laptop 1050 is weaker than the desktop counterpart I believe, and is probably the weakest of the 1000-series GTX cards.

A desktop 1050 would post higher scores by a fair %:

Fingerprint readers can generally be cack. We're rolling out Dell's and Lenovo's at work and even they can take several attempts before giving up and promoting for a PIN or password.

Thanks! that makes me feel better :) The games do much better on this and I get around 50-60 FPS on Doom 2016 with High to Medium settings at Full HD resolution. GTA V is also super smooth at Full HD with high details. So it's all cool !

Yea I read a lot of reviews online and other articles... this seems to be the case with most readers now a days

One quick question, I noticed that this config. has support for SoundBlaster Cinema 3 ? However since I don't have a DVD drive, is there anywhere I can download these drivers ? I can't find them online anywhere ?
Thanks
