New Windows Installation Advice needed

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and not particularly savvy with computers.

I have a gaming laptop from PC Specialist that I bout a couple of years ago. Over the weekend it started playing up and I called technical for help.

The conclusion was to re-install Windows 10 on the machine through a bootable USB drive. Finally I have managed to boot up to re-install and I need to do the custom installation. However... Where do I install Windows?

I have attached a couple of photos showing the screen options for location... but which to choose? Then do I have to format something?

Any help is very much appreciated.

You need to delete any existing partitions and then create a single partition with all remaining space and install to that.

Edit: Only delete the partitions on the drive that hosted windows, there's no need to format a secondary data drive, that can remain as it is.

What drives you you have connected to your PC (inc USB drives)? From that image you seem to have a 1GB drive called Drive 0 and a bigger drive called drive 1 and both have an MSR partition. This is unusual.

Before advising you further how to proceed we need to know exactly what those two drives are and what's on them.

Drive 0 is 1tb and drive 1 is 250gb guessing drive 1 is an M2 or ssd.

Oops, mistook GB for MB! Yep, you're right. :)

To the OP, your Windows system is on Drive 1, you should delete all partitions on that drive, create a new partition the size of the drive (several additional partitions will also be created and that's normal), then install Windows in the largest partition (it will be selected by default).
