Hi
I recently received my optimus laptop and i am very happy with it, i just have a few questions from a complete beginner.
First is processor related- i have the i7 8750h which has a turbo of 4.1mhz. How do i activate this? Will the device use this power as and when it is needed or do i need to command it to do so?
Next up a graphics question. I have all the Nvidia apps and updates installed, I have control centre the other app (forget the name) and all drivers are up to date, i have run a few benchmark tests but they appear to be selecting the intergrated graphics Intel hd instead of the 1050ti. I can see in the nvidia app under 'my rig' it shows my 1050ti, and i see it under the about my computer area in settings. Will my machine know when to switch to the 1050 or do i need to tell it somehow?
Last question, i had the computer shipped with no OS as i had purchased a key. It arrived with windows 10 home, so i went to the website and made sure i had the latest version installed and updated etc. Once the updates had run and completed i tried my product key to activate windows, and it said not valid something something. Is this a dodgey key or am i doing something wrong? I have the latest version of windows 10 installed with all updates (took ages). The key is from The key factory .com and was a £14.99 key for windows 10 home.
Thanks in advance for the help. My first step into the PC world (from console) and contrary to what i have heard i am finding the community to be amazingly helpful.
