Hi All

PCSpecialist PC's come with Windows 10 Home Trial version. I have a Windows 10 Pro licence.

Is it best to enter the key and let Windows 10 Home update or do a fresh install?

Thanks

Yes it does, PCS use it for testing purposes.

IMO it is wiser to install your own copy of Windows. :)

That's what i was thinking.....just not to familiar with Win10 and if it was basically the same OS but with add-ons.

If i can now get Windows Media Tool to work......

1. Make sure your USB stick is at least 8GB.

2. Copy the media creation tool (MediaCreationTool1803.exe) to your USB stick and run it from there. I've no idea why this should work but apparently it does. :)

The USB stick must have only one partition, if formatted it must be FAT32 and cannot be GPT formatted. Perhaps you have an NTFS formatted stick with GPT partitions?

Try running diskpart on the USB stick, clean the drive and create a single MBR partition, then format it as FAT32

It was the USB, no idea why but tried another USB and it worked......cheers

Glad that's sorted, I was running out of ideas! :D

I always clean install any new PC or laptop and always have done for pretty much ever. I like to know exactly what is installed and how it's been configured, but that may just be me. :)
