Upgrading my GPU

Hey guys I’m looking to acquire a new GPU for my desktop, my old GTX 580 died at some point, not sure when or why, but just stopped working :( Sad times. I’m rubbish with compatibility stuff, so looking for help.

Here is my current setup:

InWIN BLACK DRAGON RIDER GAMING CASE
i7-2600k Quad Core
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz
3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 580
60GB OCZ VERTEX 3 SSD
1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK
CORSAIR 1050W PRO SERIES HX1050-80 PLUS SILVER MODULAR
COOLIT ECO II A.L.C (ADVANCED LIQUID COOLER)
Sound Blaster Audigy SE

I’ve been looking at a GTX 1050 TI for about £150, but because I’m unsure if it would work with my Mother Board, I wanted to check and see if anyone can confirm, and if it doesn’t.... Could someone make a suggestion for a good upgrade?

Thanks in advance :)

It will work fine with the motherboard.

Modern graphics cards are much more energy efficient.

A GTX 1050 ti will give you only around the same performance as a GTX 580, but for lower power consumption.

If you're looking for a bit more of an upgrade, I'd suggest a GTX 1060 6gb (~£250) or RX 580.

Wow, really? Well, I’m considering getting a gaming laptop soon, so, it’s more or less a stop gap. I’ll have a think about it, but thanks for confirming that it’ll work! :)

If you google you can find a Zotac 1060 3gb for over £20 less. Still more than a tenner less if you brought next day delivery on that site.

If spending £200 I'd probably suggest an AMD RX 570 instead, which you can find for £200.

Also note the RX 570 comes with free games including Assassin's Creed Odyssey https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game
