I've been using the laptop for a few weeks now and it's amazing. I played the new Battlefield V beta with all settings at Ultra and the laptop didn't even break into a sweat! The specs may appear a tad overkill, but I'm aiming to keep this laptop for a good few years.

The CPU got a little warm the first few times I played games, so I've dialled back the Core voltage (by -100mv) and that's brought temps down back into the high 70s, low 80s.

I cannot recommend the service from PCSpecialists or this laptop enough!

I have an Octane too with a GTX1080 and i7 7700K. I found the undervolt worked great, but then after a while the temps shot up anyway.

Keep an eye on the control centre, because for some reason mine decided to keep defaulting to Performance mode for a while, and that was the problem. It's all sorted now, but I tend to just leave it in Balanced mode, that and a -120mv undevolt have made the temps much more manageable. I did keep undervolting right the way to -200mv's but between -120 and -200 it made very little difference.

The laptop was very stable right the way through though, but at - 120mv only No Mans Sky get's it so hot I have to stop playing, and I'm pretty certain that's just bad optimising of that game, which I'm not bothered about becasue I don't play it really anymore anyway. Everything else works like a dream, GTA V, Forza Horizon 4 etc.

The only other thing for people considering this laptop to be aware of is the fan noise, it won't be a problem for some, but could be for others. It doesn't bother me much but it does bother the missues from time to time :).

How would you undervolt the laptop? is the BIOS unlocked? and when you undervolt it what clock speeds do you get?
