because it's freesync rather than gsync and dropping 500 quid on a monitor to then not have any variable refresh rate seems pretty lame.

While this one https://www.scan.co.uk/products/245...080-1ms-10001-black-displayport-hdmi-2x-usb-3 is suitable in that it's gsync and in your other topic you said you play shooters so a high refresh rate can be desirable:

I would actually suggest something like the Dell S2716DG instead - which is 1440p and 144hz like the other Asus one, but has gsync instead of freesync - meaning it goes with your Nvidia GPU. Plus the 1440p resolution means a sharper, more detailed image.
