Trying to keep costs low but keep performance high enough, got anywhere to make changes?? Particularly the motherboard and power supply

The i5 8400 is £60 cheaper and for gaming at 1080p with a mid-range GPU the performance will be near-identical. The 8600k is only 300MHz faster once you factor in boost clocks which for this budget range doesn't seem at all worth £60.

The difference betwene 8gb RAM and 16gb RAM is tiny to non-existent in nearly all gaming scenarios and you can add your own RAM in the future if prices are better. RAM is currently twice as expensive or more as it has been previously. So that's £80.
http://www.techspot.com/article/1043-8gb-vs-16gb-ram/page3.html

You're not using any of the features of the Z370 mobo so you might as well stick with the B360 which is under the Home/Office configurator: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-home-office-pc-ii/

You don't need a liquid cooler or the extra case fans. So that's another £25

Do you need the wifi card? If not, drop that

I'd go with the RX 580 as it's only £10 more and supports freesync, so opens up many cheaper monitor upgrades in the future for adaptive refresh rates. Also worth checking if PCS are doing the free games offer with it: https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game

I'd go with a 550W PSU as it may open up more future GPU upgrade options.

If you were going to spend £200 more on the build instead of buying all the bits trimmed off above, buy the system as I've posted it but without the GPU and get yourself an RX Vega 64 for £440 (~£170 more than the RX 580) off another website.

Thanks, tbh I will be using it for other tasks that aren't gaming , hence the 16gb ram (things like music production it's recommended to have 16 gigs) and does the 580 match the 1060 performance wise?? I thought about it when I realised how cheap freesync monitors can be.
