Gaming PC - Help before buying

This is the pc I have selected so far, I've been out of the game for a few years so not sure what is what. Ive gave myself a budget of around £2700 give or take but saving money is always nice. I'm wanting to play games in 4k 60fps and do some emulation upto Xbox 360 eventually, Worried emulation is usually only single core so confused about the i9 and i7 as some have better single core GHz.

Any help much appreciated.

What monitor are you using? A 4k TV?

Do you need the build to have wifi or are you using a wired connection?

The the 2080 ti seems appropriate (expensive! but a valid use for it indeed) :)

Switch the mobo to the Ultra Gaming which is ~£65 cheaper and has most of the same features - except the built in wifi and bluetooth that you're apparently not going to use anyway

The H100x cooler is more than enough even for an OCed 8700k.

I'd suggest you get the system pre-OCed by using: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-z370-overclocked/

I'd drop the SSHD in favour of a regular HDD as there's not all that much merit in an SSHD as a secondary drive for mass storage - not versus the cost imo. I would get a 3TB HDD because +1TB for £11 vs a 2TB HDD.

I'd get the £5 warranty upgrade

Shaves a few quid off, gives a faster CPU

Do be aware that Intel are expected to launch slightly upgraded CPUs in October. So you might prefer to wait for those. I think the 2080 ti is out of stock until 9th Oct anyway? (because Nvidia delayed shipping them)

Trying to get credible info about the new intel chips is hard. Release may not be until next year, however with the delay of the 2080 ti I'll delay any purchase for a few week yet.

Thanks for the advice the oc is a good call.

Cheers
