Laptop spec help

Hey guys

I'm looking at retiring my desktop since my gaming room is being repurposed and it is starting to show it's age. (4930k and 980)

I'm trying to decide on a 17.3' but after reading about the temperature issues on the defiance I'm leaning more towards the octane.
It would mainly be for day to day stuff and light gaming e.g euro truck, farming sim and the odd AAA like Forza. I would also like to be somewhat future proofed for the next few years.

I have a budget of about €2000 could maybe push it to 2500 if it's totally worth it

Thanks in advance

I would personally say it's a good plan going for the Octane over the Defiance until the sort out the heating issues. The Octane will last a lot longer also due to overclocked graphics and desktop processor.

This build is going all out, not holding back, whilst not being silly with overdoing it with regards to waste, it's just over the 2.5k, but worth every bit I would say:

You can easily shave a couple of hundred off that without particularly affecting performance, but that’s going for the best of the best in every area.

The above is a good spec.

If you wanted to push for the GTX 1080, you could fit it in if you drop the SSD to 256gb. Or you could order the spec with just an HDD if you had a Sata SSD to transfer over from your old build potentially

That would be a fantastic idea unfortunately I promised to pass my old build onto my son.
I could still try to squeeze the 1080 in as a possible Christmas present lol
