I wanted to get some advice - From my current rig I have 2x Gigabyte GTX 1080's in SLI and I wanted to see what would be the best way to ensure the cables are ready in the new pc so I can fit these cards, the setup on them is 1 and 3 in the slots so do I just call up pc specialist and ask them to wire in the power cables so it's ready to go or what?

Appreciate any feedback on the build as well - I know the CPU is massively overkill for most needs but since works paying for the pc I thought i might as well go big or go home right :)

Not right :) Or at least, not necessarily right. Even if it's free, a CPU with more cores might not be the best choice versus one with fewer cores and a higher frequencies, depending on what it is being used for.

What is the PC being used for exactly? If gaming, what monitor(s)? Any non-gaming uses? Specific software?

And what's the budget / cost of the system above?

The CPU cores was a bit excessive but I do use a few work programs that will utilise them for compute power for health and safety scenarios for oil rigs where virtual tours are used in cad renders. As for gaming the monitor is on the list, the 34" pg348q is what I went for as I have two 4k 27" monitors that I'll be using alongside for work.

Outside of the above, mostly a lot of excel pivot tables and presentations which don't require much.

As for the price, I believe it came in at 4.4k or somewhere there, not 100%
