Microsoft’s Windows 10 activation system is broke

So, long story short.
Microsoft released an update, which might have caused Windows 10 Home, Pro and Enterprise versions to not be activated any longer and even downgraded Windows 10 Pro licenses down to Home instead.
:sweatdrop:

Here the links (with a lot more info) I have found so far:
https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/oper...re-being-downgraded-microsoft-promises-a-fix/
https://www.windowslatest.com/2018/...-activation-system-is-broken-a-fix-is-coming/
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...on-error/959d8508-24be-4626-b335-d3b890d85247

It hasn't been confirmed yet, but since it is quite possibly based on Windows servers being "weird", it might even be the reason for the recent issues with activating Office licenses. :surrender:

EDIT:
Update: Microsoft’s Jeff Jones told Bleeping Computer this problem is now fixed and affected PCs will automatically become activated again sometime in the next 24 hours. Mary Jo Foley over at ZDNet points out that you can head to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Troubleshoot to fix it immediately.

As far as I experienced, it affected a wide variety of people and builds. But it should be fixed by now - at least there aren't any customers ringing about this any more.
