Work station and Gaming PC in one build

Hi!
I need a little help with a custom PC.
I would like to use it for graphic designing, video editting and for gaming.
I made two setups, the first is cheaper, the secound is a bit more expensive.
The main difference is the mother board and the processor, and unfortunately i can't use intel optane memory in the second setup because of a compatibility issue.
(I would appreciate if somebody could explaint to me the possibble reasons why i can't use the optane memory to the HDD because of an SSD.. )

One monitor, later maximum two monitor will be used.
Adobe programs for work, and not competitive gameing, just casual gameing.

Which is better for work station?
Should i change anything?

I would prefer more the secound setup, but as i heard the optane memory would be handy..

Hi,

Intel Optane is intended to provide you with better performance when paired with a traditional spinning hard disk. If you are opting for a M.2 SATA or SSD as your OS drive and a traditional hard disk for storage of files you don't really need Intel Optane.

In terms of performance the question needs to be asked what programs you will be using for video editing. Some will make good use of graphics cards and others won't. For gaming the CPU and motherboard in both cases are more than you need. You could go cheaper on these things and then spend the extra on a better GPU. If your editing programs are more CPU dependent then you'd see a drop in performance on those tasks with a lesser CPU.

For PSU I wouldn't go below 550W for your build. A 450W is adequate but doesn't leave you any spare capacity for future upgrades. The price difference between a 450W and 650W in the same model range is minimal.

Perhaps you can post back the types and programs and games you want to run and we can better advise.
