Optimus IX and brightness controls

Hi PCS,
I noticed that with updated video drivers in Win 10 the brightness control goes unusable (stuck at max bright).
Also with Linux, brightness just doesn't work.

This forces me to use the computer at max brightness which is too much.

This is an amazing laptop, specially the 144hz display and the superfast ssd, but I'll have to return it if this has no solution..

speccy says CLEVO N8xEJEK (U3E1)

please help! =)

thanks in advance

You may need to update clevo control center, also known as Hotkey.

You can find your drivers at www.clevo.com.tw

Thanks for that,

I've managed a solution on my own, to avoid more hours of trial and error and make linux usable asap (this screen can be VERY bright):

Compiz has a "brightness per app" application, which works perfectly, in order to manage really comfortable brightness.

Also Compiz has a "starting brightness per app" which works fine and remembers values.
ALSO! you have "dim inactive" which will work on top of this and provides more control.

This made me appreciate the laptop even more and wait for a more appropriate solution from a good spot.

Linux is a bit of an issue, there’s a Linux specific part of the forum, may be worth posting there, we have a couple of guys who are very knowledgeable when it comes to linux, hopefully they can help you out.
