My first PC

Hi Everyone,

I am looking at ordering my first desktop PC after deciding to change from my Xbox and I was just after some advice as IÂ’m not sure what to go for really.

The main games I play are Formula 1, GTA, Minecraft and IÂ’m looking to try new games like Euro Truck Simulator 2.

I have around £1,200 to spend but could go over by £100-£150 if I need to and I already have monitor, mouse, keyboard etc

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank You very much

Jamie

It has a fast drive for OS and games, a great processor and an AMD graphics card (which will work with your freesync screen to provide smooth gameplay). The case is good but there are cheaper options too and I put a wifi card in which you could skip if using a cable. The psu gives you headroom for upgrades but, again, could be cut back if you want to spend elsewhere.

Finally, there are much better heads than mine on the forum, so do wait and see if others post builds or comments.

That build is good.

The RX 590 is £46 more than an RX 580. It comes with 1 more free game, but unless you really want that game I'm not sure it's worth almost £50 more versus keeping £50 in your pocket.

The Samsung 970 Evo is only £12 more than the Intel drive, is faster, and comes with Rainbow Six Siege free if that title's of any interest.

Weird question, but do you need a mouse mat?

Agreed, GTAV plays best on Asus motherboards. A GTX 1050 will max out GTAV really comfortably. 12gb RAM is a great idea (because who needs more than 8gb to run in dual channel anyway). And an SSD is a must for games, especially over a better GPU.

Oh, wait, no, I just remembered that I don't agree with any of that.........
