What's wrong with my PC :(

Hiya all

So like that title says I have this issue with my pc for almost 1,5 years now and I really dont know whats going on... my pc restarts while playing games :D
The thing is since I am quite experienced myself ( not a pro I just know some stuff :smartass: ) I have done checked many things but I didnt figure this out
If I run lets say a game on the highest settings my pc restarts after 5-10 mins but If I run the same game on the lowest settings I can run it for hours before it restarts ( sometimes it doesnt )
Both of the times high and low settings I get 60 fps its not like I am pushing the machine to do something It cant do and both times the temps are the same ( gpu 50 C and cpu 82-85 )
Before you say that my cpu temps are high ( yush I know they are ) that cant be the reason for my restarts since I get those high temps on the lowest settings and I can run with those for hours and hours but on the high ones it takes minutes to restart
Well since its not the temps that cause the restart then It must be the PSU I thought , well I changed that and the problem still remained :(
I mostly play 3 games the restarting issue happens with only the 2 / 3 , the other one I can run with max settings with no restarts , like ever , its quite demanding as well.
I have also tried besides PSU changing :
-Changed position of ram sticks , tried one ram at a time on different locations etc..
-Formated my PC , even went back to win 7
-Did a BIOS reset cmos
-Changed PSU cable
-Scan for viruses malware
-Changed my HDD
-Tried different drivers

SORRY for the long post and for any grammatical mistakes I made ( there are propably a lot :D )

Thanks in advance (^.^)

So, it strikes me as really odd that running a given game on the highest and the lowest settings both result in GPU temps of 50 degrees.

Higher settings = more load = more heat.

What is the full spec of your system? (it will be in your PC Specialist account section, assuming it's a PC Specialist system you bought here?).

By that you mean I can post my pc specs on my profile ( I really dont know what the pc specialist is :p )
So yeah the games I play are mostly CPU based games and not that gpu so yeah the temps on my graphics card are under 70 ( Yeah I forgot to mention that on highest ones they increase a bit I have to double check those tho , but its 100% sure that the temps on my gpu arent to be worried)

Intel core i5 2400 3.2 ghz
GTX 660 3GB OC
8 GB ram 1333
Win 10 pro 64bit

But like I said sometimes it restarts on even the lowest settings on which the gpu is at 50-55 C it just takes longer for the restart to happen.

PC Specialist build and sell custom PCs and laptops. They're the company that own this forum.

Is the system you own a PC Specialist system? If it is a PC Specialist system you can get the full spec from your account page on the main PC Specialist website. You'd just copy and paste the text into a post.. and post it on the forum.

Or is it a PC by another company?

Full spec would include the above plus case, motherboard, PSU, CPU cooler, as well as the above.

ut like I said sometimes it restarts on even the lowest settings on which the gpu is at 50-55 C it just takes longer for the restart to happen.
Could be something to do with power draw, since higher settings mean more GPU load and more power needed, which could be an issue with the PSU, the motherboard, or GPU.

Did anything happen a year and a half ago? Was the PC moved?

Also 50 degrees C for a GPU under load sounds wrong, as does that being the same temp whether under heavy load or light load (you didn't even say what games at what settings so we can't even guess if high settings for those games really is heavy load...)

But that's all just flailing around blind and speculation.

First, we need to know if it's a PC Specialist system, and if so what the full spec is :) There's no point shooting off wild ideas and going on tangents without this.

We love you Ukraine
Uhhhmm no it isnt , Its a custom build I made myself
I cant post on this forum for help unless my pc is from them ? ( Sorry if thats the case I didnt know )

Got a pic of my specs from Speccy program

So PC Specialist who own this forum build and sell custom desktops and laptops and the forum is primarily for support on those systems. We can't advise on self builds or competitor builds, you may want to check out Tom's Hardware which is an open forum.
