Additional internal sound card

I would like to buy an additional sound card for my laptop, but an internal one. I cannot find any sound cards with M.2 slot for laptops. Why is that? All products have USB. Does it mean there is no option to get an additional internal sound card for a laptop?

Internal soundcards are old and not really used anymore, there's no requirement for them as USB carries all the required speeds and latency.

There were never any internal soundcards for laptops.

Why do you want a dedicated sound card anyway? Often people think they need a soundcard but actually require a DAC.
