Hi guys

So yesterday I bought a second hand desktop to edit videos on from the spec it looked a beast altho I’m not massively clued up on specs and numbers but knew that 3.1ghz was good haha

Ok here is the spec

AMD Athlon II 645 Quad core 3.1GHz
4GB Ballistic 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
MSI motherboard
ATI HD 5770 512MB Graphics card
XFX 550W Pro PSU
Evolution Case, fans and case light up blue and red.

When I first start the computer it comes up very quickly and says ( using PCIE gen 1 can’t find device ) what does this mean ?

It’s also been a nightmare setting it up which I finally think is a battle I have won

But maybe it just needs configuring right ? I’ve downloaded the graphics card driver and it now picks it up in device manager but I’m not sure if it’s working as it should

Should this computer be able to open a basic 4K video off my iPhone ?

Thanks for your help guys

As PCS sell custom desktops and laptops we can't advise on self builds or competitor builds, you may want to check out Tom's Hardware which is an open forum.

It's an old PC and the CPU is very weak by today's standards.

As above, but I will make these comments....

4GB of RAM is tiny if you plan to edit 4k videos.

You don't say what drive you have but that error on boot may well be a drive issue.

For your specified uses I think it's going to disappoint. If you can get your money back I suggest you do.
