We love you Ukraine
It’s a very respectable system for 1080p (hd tv) quality gaming and will cope with almost anything you throw at it at full settings.

The bonus with a build like this is that that processor will last for years as a base platform so you can upgrade separate bits like graphics cards as you go.

Whilst upgrading to 16Gb RAM is optimal you won’t see that much of a performance hit with 8gb and that should be fine for now.

If you need any help with any of it, do ask, we’re happy to help where we can.

How much did this cost?

I've googled the spec and found it on one site for £1420, discounted to £1349.

Either price is way too high.

Looking at the specs, the picture on that site (which shows a PCS frostflow cooler and an M-ATX motherboard), and reading between the lines it seems to have the following spec or thereabouts:

Case
THERMALTAKE V200 TEMPERED GLASS RGB EDITION GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 Six Core Processor i7-8700 (3.2GHz) 12MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® H310M-A: Micro-ATX, DDR4, LGA1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs
Memory (RAM)
8GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 4GB)
Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 - DVI, HDMI, 3 x DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready!
1[SUP]st[/SUP] Storage Drive
1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 32MB CACHE
1[SUP]st[/SUP] M.2 SSD Drive
128GB ADATA SU800 M.2 2280 (560 MB/R, 300 MB/W)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES™ VS-550 POWER SUPPLY
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 100 Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Wireless/Wired Networking
WIRELESS 802.11N 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD
Operating System
Genuine Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001]

If you manually configured that spec on the PCS website, it would come out as £1012.

If more than £1000 was paid for that system, I'd suggest cancelling the order for a refund, and buying something better for the money.

You should expect a lot better for £1300-£1400. Or even £1100. If you were spending £1000 on a PC I'd suggest something very different.

I know the case isn't the V300, it's an Inwin one, but PCS have stopped doing that case so I just picked something in a similar price range.. you get the point.

Ok thanks mate, not sure on price to be honest, my wife has brought it all, she just ordered it from her catalogue, during the Xmas period, unfortunately, always upgradeable in the future though I hope lol

Seriously, cancel the order and get a refund straight away. Or if it's too late to cancel, return it when it arrives for a refund.

The CPU is out of date, the motherboard is low spec and won't support future gens of CPU, the RAM is slow, the SSD is small and will be slow too, I've no diea what they used as a PSU but it's probably borderline too if they went cheap with things like the mobo and RAM. And the graphics card for a £1300 system is a joke.

PCS don't even market it as VR ready:

Not that you're into VR gaming, but it's just an extra layer of rubbish on top of a PC that is allegedly "Pro VR".

I'm afraid to say it's an extremely bad buy and appears to be a waste of £400 of your wife's money.

It appears you've both been ripped off.

If you want to post a budget at any point, and what monitor you'll be using, we can always be a bit more specific with suggestions :)

Also be aware that new graphics cards are expected to launch in early-mid January.
