I wonder if we'll get any of those Clevo P96 series of laptops that are 16.1 inches. Would be interesting to see how they fair compared to the 15 and 17inch laptops.

Yeah i liked the idea of those, they in theory produce a decent increase in screen real estate, but looking at the specs the laptops aren't any bigger it's just the bezel than shrinks. I like the idea of more screen, but always find 17inch laptops way too big for day to day use.
It's nonsense that smartphones with 5 or 6 inch display have all 1440p resolution (totally useless on that screens) and all configurations of 15,6 inch RTX laptops are only with 1080p. I want to buy a recoil II but only with 1440p/4K resolution of the screen.... Do you think it will be possible in near future?

Looking at [other store] you can get the new RTX laptops with 1440p (QHD) screens:
I think it's a real shame that laptop manufacturers as a whole are ignoring this resolution for their 17" laptops as it's the sweet spot for both gaming and productivity with this size screen
It's seriously making me consider going back to desktops, as you obviously get more for your money, but also the freedom to have whatever screen res you want etc. as well as an easy upgrade path in the future

I completely agree. 1080p 240hz and 1440p 144hz would be absolutely perfect for laptops and the cards are perfect atm for producing those numbers. 4K 60hz is just wasted on such a small screen.

Sorry my bad - just to point out it's on the quote in the post following mine.
In terms of doing something about this, are PCS aware that there are a bunch of potential customers with this requirement (i.e. do they read the forum?), because the first UK retailer that sells a 17" RTX laptop with a QHD display will likely get my custom (also unhappy that Alienware are excluding it in their new line up too!).
PCSpecialist are in a position that most of their customers are chasing specs rather than brand names, and if that cohort decide to go desktop then there is a good chance that they will buy the components themselves and put it together losing PCS a potential customer share.

PCS have, to my memory, never offered 4k gsync screens either. Which I found a real shame.
I'd suggest you email them to make sure they get the message. And anyone else reading this who is considering a purchase should do likewise to make sure PCS see the enthusiasm for something they might potentially offer

I have good news - according to the response I got back from PCS, QHD panels are coming, but the not so good news is that they probably won't start appearing until May (but I'm happy to wait)
