So before my Recoil II, I had a Defiance II which had a similar large powerful charger. I noticed that when flying (which I do quite a bit of, long-haul), the plane's power sockets wouldn't charge my laptop or even register it as plugged in (I assume they don't give enough power). On one flight, the passenger next to me had a Dell (or Lenovo, can't remember) laptop whose smaller charger fit into my Defiance's power inlet. Plugging this into my Defiance worked, and it was charging (albeit slowly).
My question is two parts:
1. Was this safe, or would it have damaged my laptop's battery in any way?
2. Has anyone else had a similar experience? And what can I do to have my laptop successfully charge through a plane's power socket?
