Windows 10 install hard drive not found

No problem. I just posted the output from gparted in the terminal and it just looks like the drive has gone.

Thank you for all your time and help. Really appreciated.

I would agree that does look like a dead drive, annoying for you but at least there is something definite to work on now.

I'd agree, think that's all the proof you need to show the drives not right.

Point PCS to this thread if you can to show them the steps you've taken, should help speed the process up.

BTW. you don't need gparted and the added complexities of Linux (if you're not familiar with Linux), you can run the Windows diskpart command from the command prompt in the WinPE install environment. Choose 'repair my computer' > command prompt and enter the diskpart command there.

If you don't know how to use diskpart here's what to do...

C:\> diskpart

DISKPART> list disk

Note the disk numbers in the list of disk drives shown, I'll assume your SSD is disk 0

DISKPART> sel disk 0

DISKPART> clean

DISKPART> create part primary

DISKPART> sel part 1

DISKPART> active

DISKPART> format fs=ntfs quick

DISKPART exit

I would now reboot the installation media and choose custom install again. If the disk still shows a tiny amount of free space then it's a dead drive.
