Just looking for some opinions on these 2 machines. Looking to upgrade my gaming laptop as it's showing it's age a tad now.
It's quite a big step up in price for a desktop CPU. Intel CPUs in general all seem great for gaming. Wondering if the 2070 will struggle with new titles before the CPU does. 8700k is almost 30% "better" according to benchmarks though.
Also not sure on the cooling. Similar specs but the recoil is much thinner and there seems to be mixed views on the cooling and fan noise of the recoil. Don't know about the octane. Are the GPUs clocked the same?
Finally, the display on the recoil also seems nicer. (NV173FHM-N44 vs B156HAN07.0). Longer response time but better contrast ratio. Thin bezel as well.
