TPM Chips

Hi, does anyone know if TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chips come as standard on PCS laptops? I think they're on most modern laptops but I can't find any mention in the specs.

Thanks!

When did they become standard? I have a Z97-P which the following link says has a "TPM Header", whatever that is.

Can't find a route to enable it in the BIOS screens.

My build - a few years old but still easily up to the job...

That's a very old desktop, so has a modular TPM.

On laptops TPM's are integrated into the motherboard since about 2017.

Quick way to check - right click the start button (or Windows Key + X), choose PowerShell (Admin)* and then run get-tpm

It'll tell you if it's enabled.

Now...I've seen some manufacturers where it's called PTT in the BIOS but it's effectively a TPM 2.0 or 2.1 and this needs to be enabled just as you would a TPM

*If your version of Windows 10 has Command Prompt (Admin), run this then from that elevated prompt, type POWERSHELL first, then the Get-TPM command
