We have recently aqcuired a new domain name for PC Specialist:

www.pcs.co.uk

We will slowly, over the course of the next few months be migrating over to the new domain name. As most customers already refer to us as PCS, and have done for for several years this name should complement our brand and help our company expand further over the next few years!

As a bonus, we also have www.pc.co.uk which will forward to pcs.co.uk.

Absolutely - we're always going to be pcspecialist, just with an easier domain name. Changing domain names is a very lengthly process, and for years we'll still be linked to @pcspecialist.co.uk - the website will eventually forward all traffic, so for example once we migrate we will forward all URL's to the same place on the new domain:

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/desktop-pcs/battlefield-3/ --> http://www.pcs.co.uk/desktop-pcs/battlefield-3/

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/pcs/ --> http://www.pcs.co.uk/pcs/

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/laptop-computers/ --> http://www.pcs.co.uk/laptop-computers/

We might have to setup a nice forum URL to make it super easy to get to our forums, maybe www.pcs.co.uk/f/ :)

The domain itself is what theyre buying, addresses within that domain you can have as you want, for things like forums it can make sense to prepend the word infront of the url however in cases such as the ones you stated its much more common to have them after a / thus denoting a subsection of the website.

This sounds well good! You are right, a lot more people do refer to you as PCS instead of PCSpecialist (Probably down to how people, like me, write the name in forums). Will the Website Layout still be the same?
