My brother has recently taken an interest in getting a gaming pc for himself and was wondering what to do, I've been helping him configure a PC but want to know what you think is the best configuration for around £800.

At the moment he's selected an FX-4170 as his CPU & a gtx 650ti boost as his GPU, any configurations around that price range would be much appreciated & any advice on the CPU or GPU will help a lot.

Keynes' spec is a beast - the 7950 is an amazingly powerful gpu for that money, you could alternatively squeeze a 660 ti into this price range, but I'd probably opt for the 7950. I'd also go with the 6200/6300 series as opposed to the 4170. Piledriver (the architecture of the 6xxx series) is a bit more efficient than Bulldozer. If you're struggling to make up your mind have a wee look at some youtube benchmarking/review videos or visit anandtech/tomshardware/somewhere like that.
