Hi all great resource this. I'm looking for a new laptop so will follow the wisdom of the crowd. I'll be using it for work as a software engineer and have the following requirements:
- Budget up to 2k
- RAM 32 GB with 1 TB SSD drive
- Unsure of graphics reqs (don't know much about graphics cards) so nothing special required I think
- Visual Studio 2019 (VS) and VS Code development environments, MS SQL Management Server
- 3 browsers open most of the time with ~ 20 to 30 tabs open in each one
- Ideally lightweight with long battery life
- Not a gamer so doesn't need to be tailored for gaming specifically
So I've narrowed it down to 2 specs. I realise the Intel H type processor (in the Proteus) is heavy duty and requires more power, so I'm guessing this will probably use more power and make the laptop heavier overall:
