Hi
So I'm just wanting a laptop for general use, browsing, Netflix etc, but maybe in the future I'll be getting a maschine mk3 to hopefully get into making some music.
Any feedback on this build would be great, I've never purchased a laptop before, so if anyone has this model how is it?
My budget is £1200
Thanks
Conrad

Looks like a decent middle of the road setup. Might be worth just specing the one drive though as the 128gb 'boot' drive won't give you much benefit, just use the 1TB evo, and perhaps buy a bigger second drive later on down the road? save you a few quid, maybe

Hi
Thanks
The reason behind the smaller drive was for just really the operating system, then the biggest drive for everything else, I figured any problems with the operating system I could just reinstall without having to lose all other programs and saved items, but I guess ssd drives are a lot more stable than the old hdd,
But in not that tech savvy

No reason you can't 'install over the top' in Windows now, it will create a Windows.old folder on the disk and put all the stuff from previous install in there, so really is no reason for it. Plus leaves you an M2 slot free for upgrading down the line.

Plus for 'snappiness' keep the OS on a fast drive, all M2's are fast, but there is fast then there is fast :)

Pro is 10th Gen 10750h only and 144hz display instead of 120hz I think are the main differences, oh and have the ability to use the RTX GPU's as well (RTX2060 is about £150 more). @SpyderTracks correct me if I'm wrong

Oh yeah, and the 144hz screen has a wider colour gamit too at 72% NTSC (99%sRGB)

"A common standard of colour space is the NTSC gamut – 72% NTSC = 99% sRGB. Therefore, a display that can reproduce more than the standard 72% NTSC will deliver even more vivid and true-to-life colours. Most of the newer Philips monitors, for example, are equipped with technologies allowing them to deliver between 85% NTSC (122.9% sRGB) and 104% NTSC (130% sRGB). " - From a Phillips press release JFYI

Which means if you're going to edit any pics/vids then the common finger in the air is 72% NTSC is the base for a decent colour balance that can be calibrated to work on those sorts of things (non-pro). Obv Pro users are £3k plus monitors with huge gamut's and extremely bright NIT output capabilities.
