17.3" RTX 3000 SERIES LAPTOPS AT PCS.

Oh didn't notice. Nice they are offering those finally!
Still, they're offering with max 2933 Mhz RAM which is a stupid thing for Zen3 where DRAM speed is king and no less than 3200 would be a good choice. You better wait they offer it in the configurator or your CPU speed would severely suffer by that (Infinity Fabric speed is linked to DRAM speed in AMD).

Jarrod's Tech just 3 days ago reviewed a Clevo with 5900HX.
Well, despite being on par with the RTX 3070 of our Ionico, it's suboptimal.

No QHD display, only FullHD. The potential of the RTX 30 series wasted, as at FullHD the CPU easily bottlenecks the FPS feeding. Using the high refresh rate of this panel is impossible, also because of the following lack.
The Clevo has not a MUX, only Nvidia Optimus. Hello? Clevo, Hello? It's 2021 here!
The Clevo uses (in that review) an overclockable CPU (HX) yet their archaic Control Center (or BIOS, for what it matters) can't move a single thing.
My 2 cents? More hopes in the Zen3 incarnation from Tongfang, honestly, provided PCS imports it. That Clevo intepretation is trash, IMO.

I wish I could trust TF again but reliability wise, in my experience, they're dog egg level.

3 total motherboard failures in about a year, meanwhile my old Clevo 555m that I gave away to a relative is still going. Along with my own 970m model that I've gone back to using for now since refunding my TongFang 2070 machine.

Would you send me the link to that video I cant find it on Jarrod's channel anywhere.

I have contacted french support today and the operator told me that there won't be 3200mhz ram with the ionico 17 because the motherboard doesn't support it. Just wanted to let you know guys !

They don't know what they're telling. Probably they're not even with their hands on the first product to ship.
Those Tongfang with Zen3 do support 3200 Mhz RAM as it's the Zen3 who has the Memory controller, not even some parts of the motherboard which can be customized. It's the CPU itself which decides the RAM speed.

Anybody in this forum can tell me PCS customize its Tongfang in this or that way.. but time will tell who's right.
That chassis with Zen3 does support 3200 Mhz CL22. No chance it can't.

The operator took quite some time to answer so maybe he just didn't want to bother :).
Anyway, I think I'll have to pass on this one since I didn't get an answer about this from the Twitter account either.

Look like the new AMD model is out.
But it's a tongfang
And it has an incomplet keyboard ...

Well, i have to admit that i'm disappointed

The Valeon? This is a laptop that in other countries is required you to pay 3 grands. Being 0,5 cm thicker than Ionico its 3080 is pushed at 150W (135W + 15W DB).
On reddit you can find scores like this with the maxed out specs.

Its design is old, the single hinge is brutal, and the keyboard is single zone RGB. But the internals, oh god the internals of this boy...

On a subjective note, Its design is ugly, I don't like it compared to my Ionico, which is so much more professional (magnesium alloy all over the place etc.). Valeon is stock plastic.
But the internals of the Valeon are on another league. And its thicker chassis allows more heat dissipation.
It's a desktop replacement of some sort, though, as it has a minuscle battery. It is not to be considered more than a portable machine.

About the grand thing: this model is sold in US with another name, and it costs 3000 USD with the same specs.

Such a shame. Don't think we're gonna get a Ryzen model in Clevo flavour. Think this'll be the first time in a long while I've not bought a PCS laptop.

Valeon seems like great value, but they're cheap for a reason :D

What's the name of that US version? So hard to find info on the stuff PC Specialist sells...
