2 Gaming PC's - Looking for advice

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade mine and my wife's gaming PC's. All advice, tips, etc are welcome!

  • Budget - £3,000 - 3,200
  • Usage -
    • I use my PC mostly for MMORPG's such as New World, Black Desert Online and/or shooters like CoD or Battlefield. I make some videos here and there + I stream from time to time.
    • My wife plays mostly the same games, but she doesn't stream or records her gameplay at all.
  • We don't have any high end monitors (current setup is quite old), but we are looking to upgrade to 1x 144 monitors each on a Black Friday (if there we find a nice deal). All tips with monitor purchase are welcome! <3
  • This might not be a question for here BUT - Is it possible to buy 2 such PC's from a single account on credit or do we have to use two different ones?

Heya! Some things we could adjust here. Firstly, about monitors- what resolution will they be? For the GPU you've picked you'd be looking at 1440p which does indeed have some very good deals right now on Amazon (about £240 for an entry one and £300 for a nicer IPS one) or were you looking at 1080p?

For the 2 PC's on one credit card question- at the bottom of the configurator there is an option to edit the quantity, meaning you should be able to get 2 on a single order then use the same card!

Hey, thanks for a quick reply!

We both would love to have 1440p monitors with the set up above. Depending on how much we spend on our PCs will depend when we'll upgrade our monitors, if that makes sense. We AIM to have 1440p monitors though ! :)

Brilliant, this spec should do you nicely! I've saved a bit here and given you what will still be a solid PC to hopefully get you those monitors quicker! Any questions, ask away!

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL II GAMING CASE The PCS Spectrum is a budget case and some users have complained about fan noise. The Lancool II is a great airflow case. if you're looking for something different the Corsair 220T and Cooler Master TD500 are also good options
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Great all round CPU for gaming
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! You can save a bit on the motherboard for the 5600X, perfectly fine to upgrade to the strix if it's an aesthetic choice
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3000MB/sR | 1600MB/sW) An M.2 NVME SSD will be significantly faster than a SATA SSD and this 500GB one will do fine for storing Windows and applications
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2200 MB/R, 1500 MB/W) This will be a speedy drive for everything else
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition All the cooling the 5600X will need

Nice one! It's looking good.

Pretty much last question ( I forgot to mention).

I bought my last PC on this site about 5-6 years ago, and intended for those two to last for a similar amount of time (5-6 years).
Is it reasonable to assume this system would last for that long? Or will I have to upgrade stuff sooner?

You should be good for a good few years with the build that @JUNI0R put together with maybe a couple of GPU upgrades but that's it

Hello!
After some consideration, we decided to buy one system for the time being (second will come in few months).

That being said, I'd love your opinion on this system!

Thanks again!

It's solid mate, I'd say you've overkilled it on the CPU cooling. The 212 Hyper would be enough to the keep the 5600x cool but if you wanted to stick with the Corsair for aesthetics you can remove the extra paste. The Corsair coolers come with their own high quality pre applied paste

Thx for advice!

I just got back home, wanted to buy this system now, but for some reason the price increased by almost £200? Any ideas as to why?

Prices fluctuate all the time, if you'd saved a quote then that price is valid for 5 days.

But prices, especially for GPU's and SSDs and RAM are all over the place at the moment from one day to the next.
