2 week old Laptop stopped charging

Hi, I've only owned my laptop for about 2 weeks now and it's suddenly just stopped charging, not even regestering that the charger is even plugged in!!
It barely moves around, the furthest it ever travels is 2 rooms apart and that happens basically once or twice ever other day.

Tried fixing the problems myself by testing it plugged into the mains in the same room and different rooms; tried uninstalled the Battery software and resetting. At the moment I'm just going to let the power drain and see if it will charge from 0%.

If it drains and nothing happens, then I'll have contact PCspecialist directly and get it sent back and fixed!

Either that or the charger itself is dead, in which case they could send you a new charger.

I assume the charger is in 2 parts, a kettle lead / mickey mouse lead and the other part being the brick and the connector to the laptop. Does the kettle lead part work with any other appliances?

Its the adapter, just tried an older adapter which is smaller, so doesn't fit fully BUT the laptop is currently charging. Gunna check if its the bit that plugs into my laptop is the faulty bit OR the battery pack bit.
Get back to you ASAP

Yep, it's the AC battery part of the charger.
Laptop charges with the old charger but not my new one.

I'm assuming I can get this covered by PCspecialist?

I'd recommend not using a random other charger for the laptop.

The charger is covered (as you say it's only a couple of weeks or so old). PCS's lines just closed (8pm) but call them tomorrow and I'm sure they'll be able to fix you up with a new one.

Damn shame to have it happen so soon, but at least it sounds like it's only the charger so the laptop doesn't need sending back.
