Correct me if I'm wrong, but 95 degrees while rendering a 3D animation, and 80 degrees on Far Cry 3, aren't good temperatures for a CPU. Any ideas why its so high...?

I may sound like Captain Obvious here, but is the fan working ok? Captain Obvious also assumes you've not got it on a squidgy surface which is impeding the airflow :) But yeah, 95 degrees is defo too hot.

mine hits 95 while rendering too and its on a cooling pad. Talked to a guy from PCS and he said it was expected and should be ok but i'm not sure

The fan seems to be working fine. I clean everything out with compressed air often, and I make sure no vents are covered when I use it. I seem to get it down to 60-65 if I limit it to 90% or so. But it seems silly to have to skimp out on performance because its close to melting...

Look here for some advice on cooling.

Re-apply some thermal past to the HSF assembly will work wonders (after you clean of the old).

Regards.
