A bit confused...

Ordered on the 28th, now onto the 15th day of pre-production. Obviously there has been some holidays in between which is understandable. But I’m worried as I’ve seen a few forum posts with people receiving their builds when they ordered a day or so after me, baring in mind they also when for the normal build time. Also had no email to inform me any parts are out of stock.

Best thing for you to do would be to contact PCS directly for an update, although they might see this post the quickest response will be from a call to their office.

They should be able to give you an update over the phone, all you will need is your order number if I remember correctly :)

Usually they'd have contacted you if there was an issue (something that wouldn't simply resolve itself) but I expect this is mostly because of the Christmas rush and subsequent backlog after the holiday period.

What build did you pick?
It's probably a missing part if it's this long in pre-production. Might be worth seeing if this part can be swapped for something better/cheaper

I’ve contacted them via email for now. I just find it strange that people are receiving their orders before me who ordered after me and went for the same build time. I can only presume there’s a part missing or an error in the system for now.

It's best to phone them, if they're busy (which they probably are) emails aren't always answered in a timely fashion.

It's about 99% that you picked a part that's missing/not in stock.
If you would tell me your spec i'd be able to identify that possibly!

I don’t have access to phoning them until late afternoon. Last time I emailed it was around a 3 hours timeframe so hopefully similar. If not I’ll phone later on.

That’s what I presumed after coming onto this forum but I thought they contacted you directly or updated the order online. Depending on what component is missing if there is I might be able to change.

Nothing special as you’ll see but there’s no point going overkill when you don’t need to, haha.

If I was you i'd still change the RAM to 3200 Mhz it might be like 10£ difference and solid performance boost.
Good looking build for some modarate gaming.
Not sure what from that list could hold it. - Deffo give them a call ASAP.

I went on and tried, but only have options for 2400 MHz weirdly enough.

Ahh i didnt notice it's a mini PC.
Explains it. - They also take a longer time to build from what the stats show.
I don’t think so? I just picked the budget that goes up to £800 when ordering as it worked out cheaper, so that’s why I believe.

H310M Motherboard you have picked is a Mini-ATX so that's a mini PC.

For some reason those take longer to build than laptops / towers as reflected by their stats on main page.

It’s not a mini PC, it’s just a budget motherboard, please don’t confuse people.

I would probably cancel that build to be honest. You could have a better system with a 2600X at the core. Eg...

Better case
Better CPU
Better Motherboard
Better RAM
Better GPU
Better Storage

If you require decent Wifi it would take you £4 over budget. The delay could actually be a blessing in disguise :)

Don’t know if I could wait that long again, haha. Thought the i5-9400f was overall a slightly better cpu.

Definitely not IMO. Lower base speed, lower boost clocks, less cores, old chipset & socket with no future potential. It's hugely limited on the H310 chipset too.

I’m not planning on trying to future proof this system, I’m short on money atm already going over my original budget. I’ll probably upgrade almost everything inside it when I have a job next year.
